DESCRIPTION:Feeling discounted from your peers? GWIS is here to offer a fun social networking event! This event will be different than your average virtual happy hour or game night! \nAt this event we will begin in a large group\, then a question will be asked\, such as “are you a cat\, dog or lizard person?” or “are you interested in Industry\, Academia\, Government or Unknown?”.  Based on what you would answer\, you can join the corresponding breakout room to meet and connect with like-minded people! SUMMARY:Path to Career - Tara Drozdenko
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Drozdenko went into government and policy immediately post-PhD (and often science background people get put into defense) as an Operations research analyst in the Navy- helped Navy to develop tactics to prevent attack while at port. Then had to analyze bombs during the Iraq War. She then transitioned into the Arms Control Bureau as a physical scientist- moved to the financial sanctions world and did terrorist sanctions (Foreign Affairs Specialist\, Counter-terrorism office). Now she is the Managing director for nuclear policy at the outrider foundation (nonprofit here in Madison).

DESCRIPTION:Join us Thursday January 28th at 4pm for Dr. Jackee Sanchez (Medical Science Liaison at AstraZeneca).\n\n \n\n \n\nDr. Jackee Sanchez is a Southern California native and received a B.S. in Biochemistry from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles\, CA. She earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). There\, she investigated therapeutic resistance mechanisms in BRAF-mutant melanomas and developed preclinical combination approaches with novel targeted therapies. During graduate school\, she also held various leadership positions at a non-profit life science consulting company gaining valuable market analysis and competitive intelligence experience. In her free time\, she enjoys spending time with her dog\, Luna\, all-things fitness\, and exploring/traveling to new cities\, stateside or overseas. Dr. Sanchez is currently Chicago-based and is a Medical Science Liaison at AstraZeneca providing medical support for the thoracic oncology portfolio.\n\n \n\nClick here to join the conversation
