Speaker - WARF
GWIS will be hosting Dr. Bauer and Dr. Sutton in this seminar. They will talk about their transition from graduate school where they received traditional science Ph.D.s to working with patents and businesses at WARF (Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation). This will be an informal, audience question-based seminar to learn more about their careers.

Speaker - Tara Drozdenko
Dr. Drozdenko went into government and policy immediately post-PhD (and often science background people get put into defense) as an Operations research analyst in the Navy- helped Navy to develop tactics to prevent attack while at port. Then had to analyze bombs during the Iraq War. She then transitioned into the Arms Control Bureau as a physical scientist- moved to the financial sanctions world and did terrorist sanctions (Foreign Affairs Specialist, Counter-terrorism office). Now she is the Managing director for nuclear policy at the outrider foundation (nonprofit here in Madison).
